Showcasing Carbon Removal in Action
OCO welcomes carbon removal buyers and partners to its manufacturing plant in Avonmouth
O.C.O was delighted to welcome representatives from Puro.earth, Supercritical, Deloitte, NatWest, Citibank and Liberty Group to our Avonmouth site last week.

During the visit, guests were given a tour of the processing plant to see how our Manufactured Limestone aggregate is produced using Accelerated Carbonation Technology. This process reacts captured CO₂ with alkaline waste materials to form stable carbonate minerals that permanently store carbon for more than 1,000 years.
Visitors were also invited to explore our on-site dMRV laboratory and discuss how monitoring and verification support high‑integrity carbon removal.



Puro.earth is O.C.O’s certified suppliers, issuing CO₂ Removal Certificates (CORCs) since 2023. To date, the Avonmouth facility alone has issued more than 24,000 CORCs, contributing to over 57,000 across our other UK facilities.
A key differentiator of our approach is our circularity: we combine thermal residue materials with captured CO₂, transforming both into valuable construction aggregates while permanently locking away carbon. Our Avonmouth facility is also partially powered by on-site solar panels and renewable electricity from the grid.
