We are delighted that a low carbon cycle path project utilising O.C.O’s carbon negative Manufactured LimeStone (M-LS) has been shortlisted for the Construction News Awards in the Low Carbon Project of the Year Category.

The cycle path, which is being built for Birmingham City Council as part of the Bromford Flood Alleviation Scheme, is being developed by Jackson Civil Engineering for the Environment Agency. Early calculations show the new low carbon foamed asphalt mix, made from recycled aggregates and processed waste products, could bring CO2 savings of up to 90% compared with using a traditional hot AC20 asphalt mix.
