Our very first UK plant is celebrating 10 amazing years of production.

Brandon was ‘born’ when the first line was hand-built by the Founders to determine whether our patented, ground-breaking technology that had been developed in the laboratory could be taken to a commercial level.

The resounding answer was “YES!” and now, 10 years on, we have a second line at Brandon, purpose-built plants in Avonmouth and Leeds and are now the leading recycler of APCr in the UK.

We continue to grow and invest with a new site in Wretham that will eventually take over from our Brandon plant, together with ambitions for a site in the Northwest of England.

And that is just the UK story – we have a pilot plant in Japan using Flue Gas as a source of CO2 which has proven successful and has led to our first commercial order with many more in discussion, and we are in talks with various companies around the world about taking our technology and expertise in waste treatment and Carbon Capture overseas.

Since Brandon first started, over 220,000 tonnes of waste have been treated and recycled into aggregate that would otherwise have gone to landfill.

Over half a million tonnes of recycled aggregate have been produced saving roughly 300,000 tonnes of natural limestone having to be used.  This is enough aggregate to make over 62 million blocks that could build more than 12,000 new homes!

The carbon we have captured, just at the Brandon plant, is equivalent to more than 3 million car journeys or the planting of 370,000 trees.

The Brandon team – pictured below – also hit an amazing milestone at the end of February by passing 1,000 days LTI-free!

A huge well done to the whole team, past and present, and here’s to the next 10 years and more…
